What exactly is old gold?
Anything you no longer wear or use: broken or old fashioned jewellery, single earrings, broken chains, dental gold, worn coins. The shape does not matter, it is about the gold content.
How do you determine the price of my old gold?
We determine the carat content (8, 14, 18 or 24 carat), weigh the pure gold and multiply it by the current gold rate of that day. Everything happens in front of you, transparently and explained.
Is my damaged gold still worth anything?
Certainly. For old gold the gold content counts, not the condition. A broken chain or bent ring is worth as much as the gold it contains. Where possible we remove gemstones and return them to you.
Should I polish my gold before the valuation?
No, leave it as it is. Polishing has no effect on the gold value and can even be harmful for collector pieces.
Do I pay tax when I sell old gold?
For scrap gold and jewellery usually not. For investment gold (bars and recognised coins) a capital gains tax has applied since 2026. Read more about it on our knowledge base page.
